FAQ
The questions the owner answers every day.
Rates, permits, prep, and how a load actually runs.
How much does it cost to ship?
Most legal-width loads start around $2.50 per mile. Units under 20 feet and 4,000 lbs price lower. Campers usually floor around $650, boats around $850, utility trailers around $550. Short hauls price higher per mile. Length, height, width, weight, and season move the number more than state lines do — heavier units cost more in fuel. Use the estimator for a band; the owner firms it once we have photos and exact dimensions.
Do you only haul campers and boats?
No. We haul campers, boats, utility trailers, car haulers, dump trailers, enclosed cargo, equipment, and other towed loads. Loose cars and LTL pallets without a trailer are still a no.
What is oversize, and when do I need a permit?
On most Interstates, legal width is 8'6". Anything wider, or taller than about 13'6", or longer than 53' on the trailer, needs state permits. We file those. The estimator flags the band when your width or height crosses the line.
How do I prepare a camper?
Retract slides, awnings, and steps. Empty black, grey, and propane to travel levels. Secure loose interior items and TVs. Remove or drop antennas and flag solar arches in the quote. Disconnect the battery if we are towing. Leave one set of keys and the title or registration copy in a labeled envelope. Or skip the checklist — book full breakdown and setup and we handle it at both ends.
Do you break down and set up campers?
Yes. Full breakdown at pickup and full setup at delivery: slides, awnings, jacks, steps, tanks to travel level, disconnect and reconnect to existing power, water, and sewer if the pedestal is ready. Personal packing inside the unit is still on you. Add it on the quote form; most units land between $375 and $650 on top of the haul.
Will you launch my boat?
Yes. At delivery we meet you at the ramp or marina you name and launch the boat. We can also pull it from the water at pickup. You handle slips, ramp fees, and a driver for the boat once it is in the water. Add launch on the quote; most boats land between $275 and $500 on top of the haul.
How do I prepare a boat?
Drain livewells and ballast. Remove electronics you care about, or photograph serials. Trim motors to the travel position we specify. Shrink-wrap is optional and quoted separately. Batteries disconnected. Hatches dogged.
How do I prepare a utility or cargo trailer?
Lights, brakes, tires, and bearings have to be roadworthy if we are towing it. Measure width including fenders and ramps. Strap or remove loose cargo. Empty dump beds and lock hydraulics. Note hitch type — bumper, pintle, or gooseneck. Leave the coupler lock combo with the keys.
Do you run to Canada or Alaska?
No Canada. Lower 48 only. Alaska is seasonal and quoted case by case. Hawaii is ocean freight; we can stage to the port but we do not book the vessel ourselves.
What if the weather turns or a permit lags?
We do not drive high-profile campers or oversize boats through high-wind advisories. Permits are state-issued and can slip. The owner calls before the window moves. You are not finding out from a GPS ping that went quiet.
